She is also the Project Lead of Nifemi Brown Foundation, a non-profit organisation committed to achieving Sustainable Development Goals and making a positive difference to the lives of students across Nigeria through a number of impactful initiatives.

We have a conversation with Oluwanifemi about the importance of leadership & values and more about what Nifemi Brown Foundation does.

About Oluwanifemi

Oluwanifemi identifies as a Social Entrepreneur, lover of Art and humanity. She is an avid reader of African literature and also enjoys writing reviews. Nifemi is passionate about nation building and advocating for women’s rights, speaking up against rape and all forms of violence against women. She has a reserved passion for media, yet to be tapped.

Nifemi Brown Foundation

Oluwanifemi is the Project Lead of Nifemi Brown Foundation, a non-profit organisation committed to Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education) and 2 (Zero Hunger). Through crowdfunding and partnership with locals and small businesses, the foundation has  renovated several public primary schools over the last over five years,  as well as distributed educational materials to students and organised training on self-awareness and mental health for secondary school students across Lagos and Ogun state in Nigeria. Currently, the foundation is training close to 100 undergraduate students on web development, content creation, product design and social media marketing. So far the foundation has over 5,000 beneficiaries in the last five years  and counting.

Leadership & Values

Nifemi Akerele believes leadership is taking up responsibility, showing up and the willingness to learn, unlearn and relearn. She says a leader is akin to a torch-bearer; saddled with the responsibility of leading, brightening others’ path and service.
